Well, I'm from Chicago and the CD wouldn't be complete without some blues, which I love to play. As a kid, I used to go see Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters in clubs. I soaked up some of that along with Duane Allman, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin and especially Albert King. I suppose this somewhat humorous and cautionary tale will resonate with a few of you married guys out there who know what it's like to be "in the doghouse"! It certainly isn't autobiographical (honest honey!). I used the amp simulations in GarageBand and was able to get "my sound" with ease. I am a real tube amp fan and GarageBand still had me smiling when I heard its sounds. Thanks Apple!

Been down this highway so many times before
I mess things up and she shows me the door
I can’t help wondering why I tear things up this way
And if she’ll take me back this time, I want back in to stay
Damn these four motel room walls
Don’t want to wear these lonely shoes no more
She’s in a mood watch out
She’s in a mood
I can bail out or I can wait her out
She’s in a mood
I thought I understood her, I guess I proved me wrong
She’s really hung me out this time, I’ve never been gone so long
Even miss the silent treatment, when she’s this mad at me
She don’t like me much right now but I know she still loves me
Sweet talk and promises won’t buy me in this time
I’m gonna lay low and bide my time
CHORUS
Been down this lonely road a million times before
I mess things up and she shows me the door
No one can figure out why I tear things up this way
If she takes me back this time, I want back in to stay
Damn these four motel room walls
Don’t want to wear these lonely shoes no more
CHORUS
