I got the song idea from a conversation I had with a friend (thanks Claire) about embracing one's destiny as you move thru life. I also came up with a bitchin guitar riff in drop D tuning and I was off and running. I wrote the words first and then started brainstorming music. The heavy riff became the chorus. I built the song on a few very cool GarageBand drum loops and then I programmed some additional drum fills to set up the transition from section to section. I laid down 2 guitar tracks and I even did some "harmony" lead guitar in the solo section. The solos were first take! This song came together fast, done in 1 day. As with all songs I do, I always revisit them later to see if it still sounds as good as I thought it did when I was creating it and to make some tweaks. This was one of the last songs I wrote for the CD and I can't imagine the CD without it. I hope you have fun exploring the tracks!
